this might be kinda hard, but im listening to the radio and the track name was 26_hifi. Is there anyway to setup like a search to find out who uploaded it. Not that i liked it or anything just wondering. ez

good question...I 2nd that. we HAVE to get this ID3 tag thing sorted out..maybe changes need to made where people can edit them right before uploading to the site...maybe a popup with instructions on how to and explaining why would do the trick...I dunno, this is definately JC or Kurt's territory.

more me.. Everytime I catch it, I located the person, the track and tell them to fix it. slowly but surely its going away.

yeah, maybe there could be and id3 tag editor on the site when they first upload a track or mix. And is there anyway to separate our tracks from our mixes other than the tag/title?

the id3 tag editor would have to be something jon comes up with. as for separating mixes from tunes, no.. All the media you upload gets uploaded to your own personal media dir. the uploader doesn't know the difference, and doesn't care.
why would you want them separate anyway?

this more of a question for logan, help em out here
the ID3 tags have to be embedded with the MP3 or so I thought, put the application does generate something from the fields you fill out when uploading a tune. waiting for more by loki....?

i guess, i could look for a batch id3 linux based id3 tag fixer.. i would hate to turn it loose on all our content and screw it all up tho.

i found something that would work, but it requires some perl work, and I dont have time to do it.
I'm okay with emailing the person who's got the mislabled stuff. If they don't fix it, i'll just pull it out of the play list.

there is an ID3 tag creator built into the CMS but it doesn't seem that it encrypts MP3 files as I think it might have to be done at the creation of the track on this media format... I am still looking into the issue we may be able to resolve this with the current framework.. we just have to look into why this is occurring
