Do you feel your drum patterns are original in anyway, something that people could recognize you as a producer? (Ibunshi is obviously one of the people currently making D&B who has very distinctive drum patterns and a unique, original sounding style to his drums. So he's out the question. But also one of the producers out there that probably keep away from the pattern.)
Don't any of you ever get bored of the basic but well known D&B drum pattern?
What do you think you could do to keep away from this basic pattern and instead of just replying back, we'll do something to see what we can come up with for are D&B beats as a bit of fun and express some originality, too.
You don't have to participate, you can simply just give your views on this discussion/practical.
The Rules:
1) You must
not use the kick, snare drum pattern as shown below, anything else goes. This should be very interesting for all of us interacting with the idea and the listeners too.
2) You have 64 steps (4 bars) to use. Go as wild as you like.
3) Try and be as original as possible, the more complex your beats, the better.
4) Try and create something no one has heard before. (this might be tricky)
