so im finishing a mix today, i wanna have it posted by tonight cause im doing to D.C for 4 days
i use soundforge, i just wanna give the sound a bit of a boost and trim some off...

give me quick easy steps so i can finish today...

all i need a couple of quick steps,
im recording while i typw this so no hurry...

jusst need the boost of sound....

can raise volume levels for the entire file..or run 'em through filters..just play around till you figure it out, just don't save changes until you know what needs to be done. Maybe save a seperate copy and tweak that just to figure it out without accidentally saving the other...dunno

i keep it real basic with my mixes..

in the eq -> graphic -> 20 band menu.. i bring down the 20hz to about -25, 28hz to -15, 40hz to -6, 56hz to -1. Then I boost 15k to +2, 10k +1.5 , 7.2k to +1.0 and 5.1k to +.05 then boost the output gain +3

I'll reroute my computer out to channel 4 of my mixer, set my gain on my mixer at 12 oclock and adjust the output till i'm 1 bar in the red.

dunno if thats right, but when i burn it to cd, sounds great in my truck.

you need a paz analyzer to let you know what all your freq ranges are at. then eq your ranges for the best high fidelity sound possible.

pretty much what kurt said... DONT RED LINE!! then normalize when ur done.. and go through the mix and "turn up" the parts that need to be louder, turn down etc.. good luck... oye... just noticed im 2 days late..
