EverydayJunglist: First, tell us a little about yourself?
Diode: Simply, my names is Alex and I'm a Puertorican male from Worcester, MA USA. I like long walks on the beach and I enjoy reading drama novels.

EverydayJunglist: What began your journey into the depths of drum and bass? Who are your biggest influences?
Diode: Well I was a breakdancer for a long time since middle school. I fell in love with latin freestyle music. Shortly after i started to like break beats and house music. That turned into trance. I was partying a lot during high school and became connected with the dnb sound. Thanx to Panacea I fell in love with this shit.

EverydayJunglist: What is the DNB scene like in Massachusetts?
Diode: BLAH. I'm not too involved.. hard to get out when events go down becuase of my job.

EverydayJunglist: What does your production setup consist of(hardware)? When did you start to produce?
Diode: PC, Reason, FL Studio, Acid, VSTS, Monitors and my brain. I started writing around 2003... seriously, there after.

EverydayJunglist: What production software do you use?
Diode: The DAW is FL Studio mainly.

EverydayJunglist: What vst's/effects do you find yourself using the most?
Diode: Depends, Camel Phat, Virus, Albino, Massive, Waves, and the FL Studio plugs.

EverydayJunglist: Where do you start when producing a track?
Diode: Drum and Bass... the Bass and drop... Dubstep... the bass and drop.

EverydayJunglist: Any tips and trick for all the producers out there?
Diode: Do what you like, in the end, you need to focus on what's in your head and get it out there! When working your tunes, keep the ideas simple. The simpler it is the more impact you'll make. Keep it real. Don't copy other producers... Take bits and pieces and techniques if you must but try not to mimic them. Be true to your sound.

EverydayJunglist: What does your dj setup consist of? When did you start djing?
Diode: Nothing ATM. I'm curently in between lives so my stuff is packed away.

EverydayJunglist: Do you prefer digital or vinyl?
Diode: Vinyl, so much fun. Really I prefer a laptop and serato cuz you can play so many tunes without the hassle of digging. Set cue points etc.

EverydayJunglist: How has the digital revolution changed the way you work in terms of business and production?
Diode: Eh, yeah. I prefer vinyl releases, but digital is fine. Its evolving for the better. I get more releases out now as mp3's took over.

EverydayJunglist: Any future collabs we should know about?
Diode: Kryteria and Diode, Bratkilla and Swagg, remixing some tunes for OIK. I wanna get with excorcist and get some things done. So many wants so little time.

EverydayJunglist: What producers are really catching your ear at the moment?
Diode: For DNB... Its iffy, kryteria rocks, they are friends of mine. Evolved in their sound and I'm so happy for em. Blockhead is sick, Aeph, Neonlight. Upbeats are my favorite but.... Where the heck have they been?!

EverydayJunglist: What's your fav. label?
Diode: The ones I'm on! LOL!!!!! Big ups!!!

EverydayJunglist: Any shoutouts?
Diode: Hell yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!
